Yoga was kind of one of those things that caught me totally by surprise more than 10 years ago when my mom talked me into doing a Rodney Yee yoga video with her one day over Christmas break. I was always one of those guys who loved sports, but could barely touch my kneecaps because my hamstrings were tight as dry wood thanks to genetics and years of neglect. Needless to say, I was shocked when I realized that even after years of lifting weights and running and playing tennis, my unnatural attempts at downward-facing dog left my arms shaking after a few breaths.
It wasn’t long before I bought my first yoga mat, Rodney Yee DVD, and Yoga for Dummies book and started practicing on my own at home. Let me just say, yoga books are my weakness (well, books in general, but especially yoga books) and my yoga library continues to grow on a regular basis. Over the years Daily Cup of Yoga has transformed from my own personal online yoga universe to a collaborative guest author effort with the goal of providing entertaining and enlightening content and resources for yogis and yoginis in the study and practice of yoga and simple living.
